  THE AUSSIE The Army gave me an airplane once. I mean I had to sign for it and I had to give it back and take care of it, but they gave me a plane (in Vietnam). It took place so long ago that unless I keep re reading it I forget it ever happened. And maybe it happened a little different. PEACE everyone.  KATRINA REVISITED 2005 One year ago Katrina swept through the South and the levies of New Orleans broke. A week later I wrote this ODE. Has anything changed since then?  LIVING WITHOUT IT ALL Go into the woods without ANY of modern society’s amenities and survive. But WHY? To suffer, and fight for existence? Perhaps to learn about self and our fit in the big plan? You decide . . .  AILIEN NATION 2006 We have a real problem, and it involves the entire U.S.of A.
Here is a two pager that tries to answer just one question - WHY are people all moving NORTH?  NOTHING’S WHAT IT SEEMS My first crush. In 1963 Seattle, life was different. Protected from the rest of the World, we all slept soundly - UNTIL...  CHINA IS OUR FRIEND America is on a dangerous path. We are spending money in China faster than we can borrow it back. The rest of the world sees this as foolhardy. Now everyone wants to stop using the DOLLAR as universal money, while China is trying to help US!  AMERICAN PSYCO REVIEW After watching the movie AMERICAN PSYCO I was compelled to write this review as payment for the free rental.  CARBON DIOXIDE Problems are often masked with clever or unwitting names. Global Warming is one such example. Carbon Dioxide is the culprit more that HEAT and WE HUMANS are the major producers.  EARLY APRIL 2006 A collection of Very Brief Tales sent to various publications. Included are comments to a Seattle Radio Show - 
(to which I listen).  MORE JOBS THAN WORKERS China is in an enviable position with more jobs than available help. But the inability to import labor has created some clever solutions - for THEM.

How did I do all this ?

CLUE: I DIDN’T - Apple Computer did.

Once I roughed out how the pages should look, I launched iWeb, chose the template “FREESTYLE” then clicked and dragged the stuff where I wanted it. Just before I saved my work [after my changes] I tested the pages and links just to make sure I hadn’t screwed anything up. On the few times I had made a mistake - it was easy to simply REVERT TO SAVED and not do what I had just done again.

Apple Computer and the Apple software worked without a hitch. And just as important, it makes me look better than I already look!

I created the book as described below - and this WEB SITE with a Mac iBook using iWeb. The Web  hosting companies are Go-Daddy and Dot Mac. The graphics were either included in the web template called FREESTYLE, created by me or are pictures that I took (except as noted). I use a NIKON 3.5 mega pixel camera and manage the downloaded images in iPhoto. I have an OLD copy of Photoshop that barely works on my computer and use it as my image editor and graphic creation application (I used to teach the program professionally). The book was written using TextEdit and M.S. Word. I imported, placed or pasted the text into Apple’s program PAGES. Having worked at Aldus, as a tester in engineering, then a support technician, PAGES is very reminiscent of PageMaker. For any further information, well you know the drill by now -
